FAQs

When can I order cuttings from Figopolis.com?

Cuttings are best taken from dormant trees, and in my area that means right around the New Year. We plan to have the shelves full and website updated with available quantities at midnight EST Jan 1, 2025.

Is this all the fig breeds you have available?

We have approx. 30 breeds of fig currently and will have all our available breeds listed long before my sale starts on Jan 1, 2025.

Do you only have fig cuttings or do you sell any other dormant wood cuttings?

We planned to offer 3 types of mulberry cuttings (dwarf everbearing, Black Pakistan, and Green Pakistan/Green Shahtoot), as well as American Elderberry cuttings, however only our dwarf mulberry cuttings are reliable enough to sell right now.

How are my cuttings shipped to me?

All cuttings are examined thoroughly then stored overnight in the cooler. The next day we dip both ends in wax, then the cuttings wait back in the cooler to be packed in individual sealed bags and shipped USPS Priority Mail. All cuttings will be marked with the initials of the breed. We also dip cut ends in low melt point wax to keep cuttings fresh for as long as possible. Red wax on the bottoms and white wax on the top to make it easy to know which end goes down.

You will want to open the bags and get the cuttings planted as soon as they arrive but if you need to wait for any reason before you plant, keep the cuttings in the sealed envelope and store them in the veggie drawer of your fridge but do not let them freeze.
